Status Update

Wow... my last post was like, 2 & half months ago. Let me see, lots of things happen, getting so lazy nowadays, my room is so messy, i got total 300 over unread emails (spam not included) in hotmail, yahoo, and gmail, may be because my leng lui housemate just moved out :p

Anyway, I just changed my job. FINALLY!! And I don't have to re-read the things i wrote here just to motivate myself to work everyday, although most of the reasons is not valid anymore.

It was nice to hear my boss say "If you didn't leave, the manager's position will be yours later". Not sure whether she told that to everyone that going to leave, but still feel syiok to hear that. Right after I turn down their "verbal" counter offer, they decided to hire a manager to replace me. KNNCCB, feel like idiot like that, all these while being doing manager's job but they pay me peanut. Damn, that makes me sounds like losers that always complaining low pay.

May be I should start charging consultation fees because since the day I left my ex-company, almost everyday there's people call/email/sms to ask me how to do this/that, some were not even in my last job scope. From head of department, till fresh grad analyst. Now I do feel I'm so popular and important, but too bad I'm not there anymore. Now I heard they actually beg an ex-staff go back as a consultant...

Ok, back to the new place. I was kinda disappointed actually. Although I had prepared for it, but didn't know it was that bad. May be I was use to giving orders than taking orders. Having much more freedom and decision in doing things before, now, it's just like robot. All the redundant procedures and process is making people stupid. My simple questions like "Why we have to do this?", non of the seniors can answer. I finally understand what I manager mean by "I want some new creative ideas". But I think my creativity is dying fast in such cold environment. There are a lot more kiasu people in my new company, a lot lesser leng lui (BIGGEST disappointment). with the 1000 over work force, I hardly see a leng lui around. To make things worse, my boss is actually quite leng, but too bad she's my boss, cannot kacau.

Back to work in IT field, reading back those programming stuff, unix/dos commands, plus various platform which is uncommon in other field are really killing me. Sigh... old liao, brain not as fast as last time. No wonder I didn't see any "fast learner" phrase in sample manager/director's resume....

Yeah I know, this post's title is so bored, lack of innovative, formal, no freedom, just like what I'm doing everyday. They even have a daily status report... I think the first creative idea of mine is to propose to my manager to remove the stupid daily report... wish me luck :p
